The morning dawned on Leafstar as she crept out of her reed den. "Such a magical morning." she admitted dreamily. Then shenudged her brother, FalconFrost, awake. "Can you get Smokestream and her apprentace, Littlepaw, and go on dawn patroll? You can lead it." she meowed, and walked to Scarleaf. "Scarleaf, please go on a hunting trip."

FalconFrost nodded and visited the apprentace den. "Wake up sleepy head." he meowed. "We have a dawn patroll with your mentor."


LittlePaw awoke quickly and nodded dreamily, still in a daze.

[brightpaw]

Smokestream yawned and padded out of her den. She padded down to the Apprentice den to see LittlePaw and FalconFrost. "Morning." she said sleepily, yet alert.

[Nina]

Falconfrost bowed his head. "Mornin' Smokestream. We're going on dawn patroll. You head off towards the Southern Border of our clan and begin the patroll. I'm gonna get three pieces of kill form the fresh kill pile for us to eat on our patroll. Littlepaw, follow your mentor." he meowed, turning to littlepaw to edge him on.

LittlePaw nodded happily and followed SmokeStream. "If we go to the southern border, we need to leave at the top, go past the dirt pile, and then turn around and cross over the river, headign all the way down to the south..." he said, alert.

SmokeStream nodded to LittlePaw. "Lead the way." she said, testing him. She knew where to go, but wanted to see LittlePaw try it.

[Nina]

LittlePaw noddidly giddly and darted down the dirt pile, tunring around and heading around the camp. When he was south, he went further down to the border and waited.

Falconfrost appeared and dropped a mouse and a sparrow, with a vole in his mouth.

Smokestream caught up easily, her thick grey pelt rippling. She sniffed and began to patrol.

[Nina]

LittlePaw grabebd the sparrow quickly, but regretted it, as he began spitting out feathers as he patrolled. Once he had removed the feathers, he dropepd it and took a large chunk out with his jaws, before swallowing and picking it up again, so he could catch up. He did this continuously.

Falconfrost swallowed the vole in several large gulps, spitting the bones and unwanted parts out. Then he walked forward to lead the patroll as he was ordered. Suddenly, as rain poured down, he looked at the other two. "We have to go back to camp. Now. It isn't safe..." he meowed, getting drenched as the rain bucketed down faster than ever, soaking him.

Leafstar gawped in shock. She stood on the high rock and meowed loudly. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather bellow highrock!" she yowled. Although she knew the patrollers would miss the meeting, she had to get the clan to safety first. "Spiritgaze, can you leave your kits for a few moments, and go tell the toehr 3 clans we are about to gather for a gathering? But not at the waterfall, it is too dangerous in such weather, we shall gather ontop of Sandclan's clifftop." she meowed loudly. "My clan, there has been a sudden rain attack. I don't have much time to tell you this, so I shall lead you all to the gathering. I will take the kits." she meowed, picking the two ktis up in her jaws, before leading the camp out through the dirt pile towards Sandclan.

Smokestream nodded and began to pelt back through the pouring rain. It hit her like tiny bullets.

[Nina]

Spiritgaze returned. "Yes, we shall go to the Gathering now." she meowed, following her clan.
